David Pottinger (Chief Executive)

David has over 20 years of experience in international education. Initially a teacher, teacher trainer and manager of language schools in the UK, Peru, France, and Turkey, he later worked for the British Council in London, Nepal, and Pakistan where he was Director Karachi. As Director of the Language Division of Nord Anglia Education plc, he managed a group of 13 language schools and colleges in the UK and overseas and was Managing Director of NCC Education Ltd (formerly the National Computing Centre), an international awarding body, before taking up his currrent post in November 2005. David holds masters degrees in Applied Linguistics and Business Administration.

Will Kinsman (Director of Sales and Marketing)

15 years’ Sales & Marketing experience in service industries (primarily financial services and employee benefits/HR consulting). Three years as Marketing Contoller with Norwich Union, then four years as Head of Marketing for MGM Assurance, a specialist investment, pension and insurance provider and Britain’s longest registered company. Recruited to set up a greenfield marketing function for William M Mercer before joining Charles Schwab, NYSE-listed US financial services group as European Sales & Marketing Director. Took up his currrent post in March 2006. Professionally qualified with a degree in English from the University of Birmingham.

Lynda Connon (Director of Finance)

Lynda Connon and the finance team provide strategic financial and operational advice to the organisation. Lynda has extensive experience gained through working in both start-up and blue chip environments across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, latterly focusing on information technology and biotechnology. Her experiences include acquisition, integration and divestment projects, raising finance, developing and implementing business plans as well as building finance teams and managing the day to day finance and general operational functions.

Jim Kell (Head of Global Partnerships)

Jim is Head of Global Partnerships, responsible for the partnerships and programmes that Bell provides outside the UK. He has an MA in Applied Linguistics and the DELTA, and has worked for more than 20 years in ELT in the UK, Portugal and China – as a teacher, teacher trainer, materials writer, consultant, and manager. He has presented at international conferences and exhibitions throughout the world, has published a wide variety of articles and materials, and regularly carries out overseas consultancy work for Bell.

Jim Scrivener (Head of Teacher Development)

Jim is internationally known as an author, conference speaker and trainer. He has worked in many countries, including two years in Kenya, three in the USSR and seven in Hungary. He has written more than twenty books including Learning Teaching (Frank Bell prize 1995) and Oxford Basics: Teaching Grammar. He is currently contributing to two business coursebooks for OUP and is a regular writer for onestopenglish.com.

Ian Danbury (IT Manager)

Ian has spent his entire working life in IT; a career now spanning more than 20 years and has worked in a diverse range of market sectors including finance (banking and insurance), retail, entertainment and industrial software development. He is an advocate of maximizing value of technological investment and also keen to see that technology used to address existing business problems rather than to invent business demand for “of the moment” solutions. Having a large family and a teacher for a wife, he is also keen to see a more rapid advance of technological development in education to bring a new generation of learning solutions to a new generation of learners.

Natalie Dawe (Marketing Communications Manager)

Natalie has over 12 years experience in marketing and communications and has won several Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) awards for her work on a number of promotional campaigns. Previous experience includes working in a PR and communications agency, where she managed a number of clients, including a local authority and multinational corporations. Most recently Natalie worked in-house for a regional development agency, where she was responsible for internal communications, events, branding, corporate literature and electronic communications, including the website.

Bev Harrison (Language and Activity Programmes Department [LAPD] Manager)

Bev manages Bell's LAPD department which designs and operates programmes of language tuition combined with different sports, activities and cultural experiences. She has recently returned to the UK from Malta, where she was Director of Studies and Centre Manager at Bell Malta. Bev is DELTA qualified and has extensive teaching and training experience in the sport and tourism sector, the health service and the language travel industry.
