Bell International Institute, London

The Bell International Institute is Bell's dedicated Business centre within the UK. Hundreds of working adults from the full spectrum of professions, industries and organisations come to study on intensive language acquisition and development programmes every year.

The Institute runs regular executive courses, business English courses and a number of English for Specific Purposes courses such as English for Finance and Banking and English for Marketing.

A ‘closed group’ service is also available, where courses are tailored specifically to the needs of corporate groups of employees, whether on extensive or intensive study programmes.

Working adults from across the globe also enrol on Bell English and Business combination courses, in recognition of the fact that being successful in using English effectively at work requires a deeper knowledge of English for more generic purposes. Bell programmes effectively ensure adults feel more capable, and confident, in their use of English outside the office as well as inside.

The Institute offers the latest facilities. The newly modernised interior complements the luxury of the original Georgian architecture. The latest digital technology required for state-of-the-art educational and communication purposes has been installed in the building. As well as wireless connectivity throughout the premises, every seminar-style classrooms has been fitted with an interactive whiteboard. All rooms are air-conditioned.  

An extensive resource and self-study facility is offered through the modern study centre which is stocked with the most up-to-date published and digital resources: course materials, self-study aids, business literature, daily newspapers and a wide range of visual and audio media.

 
     

A blended learning programme for a global pharmaceutical company

Bell was asked by a leading global pharmaceutical company to design and deliver an integrated language training programme to meet the varying language learning needs of employees at different language levels in over ten countries around the world.

Starting with a detailed needs analysis exercise with the client, Bell identified the most effective learning strategies at country level, before creating a range of flexible training programmes enabling employees to integrate language learning with their work and personal commitments.

Crucially, the curriculum was designed to be delivered through a variety of media - telephone, email, online and face-to-face – allowing employees to access training solutions at work and in their spare time.

Thanks to the flexibility of the programme, the organisation’s local training and development managers are able to select appropriate training methods to meet individual learning needs within their overall budgets, whilst a sophisticated client reporting mechanism ensures that return on investment is carefully tracked and measured.
